STA EXCITED TO BE A PART OF UNPRECEDENTED HP GROWTH EFFORT.
HP’s mid-market account strategy promises to benefit customers and drive business.

Tustin, CA-based STA, Systems Technology and Associates has been named by technology solutions provider Hewlett-Packard as a key partner in their unprecedented account planning and mapping strategy. This effort is the first of its kind. HP will put both monetary and human resources towards STA’s initiatives to win business and cultivate account relationships in the mid-market sector.
"The HP reps are making cold calls for my reps at my sales reps' direction," says Simon Palmer, President of STA. "The (STA and HP) reps get together once a week and go through an account call plan. The midmarket account space is all about velocity. If you don't get off your butt and act you are going to lose in that space. That is true for us and HP."
The main push for this initiative is to develop a systematic action plan and foster a team attitude among the STA and HP sales reps. In the end, customers will be the ones who benefit most from this united effort.
STA and their customers have already experienced the benefit of this new sales initiative and alignment with HP, which allowed STA to close a sizeable six-figure deal on Christmas Eve at 5:45 p.m. in the 11th hour with help of the HP’s Emerging Growth account team. "The HP management team is absolutely focused on getting deals done," Palmer said. "That Christmas Eve deal was a net new account win against IBM and Dell. We would not have won that deal had HP shut down (for the holiday). That is energy and empowerment that we have never seen before. HP's entire management team cares about selling and getting stuff done.”
Most importantly Palmer added, “Over the last 15 years, we’ve built our business and focus around how best to serve mid-market customers and given HP’s focus and initiative within this space, it will greatly benefit both STA and the clients we serve.”
